Linton - The American Legion Fourth of July parade will be held at 10 a.m. on the holiday, with prizes awarded in several categories, including most patriotic, most creative and best walking entry.

Ashley - The Ashley Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a July 4th Freedom Festival from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Centennial Park in Ashley. Events will include a water fight, skills challenge, chili cook-off, free food and fireworks. Call Julie Bender at 288-3531 for more information. Arnegard - Arnegard will hold its annual Fourth of July celebration, including an 11 a.m. parade, noon beef barbeque, afternoon games, entertainment and tractor pull and fireworks at around 10:30 p.m. The Ladies Aid will have a coffee and pie booth. Watford City - Art in the Park will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Watford City Tourist Park, with art and craft booths, entertainment and food.

Underwood - The Underwood Civic Club will run the food booth during the McLean County Fair Thursday through Saturday at Underwood. Organizers are asking volunteers to help work the booth and donate baked goods for sale. Anyone who can help should call Janice at 442-5394, or 442-5285. Also, architecture students from North Dakota State University will present their ideas for beautifying Underwood from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Underwood City Hall.

Beulah - A late-night swim from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday will benefit Coal Country Relay for Life cancer fundraising. The swim will cost $2 and participants will get door prizes and snacks. The swim is open all ages and is sponsored by Team Kennedy.

Parshall - RTC will hold its annual meeting starting with registration at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the RTC multipurpose building in Parshall. A buffalo roast dinner will be served, followed by entertainment and a meeting at the Parshall Memorial Hall.

Center - A conditional use permit application by Florida Power and Light to construct a second wind farm in Oliver County will be heard at 7 p.m. Thursday by the Oliver County Commission at the courthouse in Center. Also, the director of the Southwest Water Pipeline project will be at the Golden Age Club in Center at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to talk about the project and the opportunity to join the pipeline for Oliver County. Town residents are invited to a potluck supper starting at 5:30 p.m. at the club.

McClusky - A Sheridan County Cultural Arts Fair will be held July 12-13 at the 4-H building at Hoffer Lake north of McClusky. The fair is for crafters, artists and exhibitors for judging, exhibition or sale. Anyone who wants to participate should call the Sheridan County extension office at 353-2766 by July 2. No fee will be charged. The fair will be held during 4-H achievement days.
