To celebrate 35 years as a club, the Highnooners Toastmasters Club will host an open house meeting from noon to 1 p.m. April 1 in the Alumni Room, Student Union Building, at Bismarck State College.

Members and former members of area Toastmasters clubs, as well as anyone interested in learning more about Toastmasters, are invited. The meeting will feature Table Topics speeches, which are designed to help speakers develop the ability to organize their thoughts quickly and to respond to an impromptu question or topic.

Highnooners Toastmasters Club 3171 was chartered on Nov. 1, 1972. One of the notable events in the club's history was petitioning for and becoming one of the first Toastmasters clubs internationally to include women among its membership.
