Two Bismarck men face aggravated assault charges in separate incidents.
n Keith Grindstone, 28, was charged with Class C felony aggravated assault for allegedly cutting two people with a paring knife.
South Central District Judge David Reich set bond for Grindstone at $2,500 cash or surety and ordered him to undergo two alcohol tests daily if released on bond.
Bismarck Police Lt. Randy Ziegler said officers were called to a northeast Bismarck home for a report of a person pulling a knife at a party at 5:03 a.m. Sunday.
A 29-year-old Mandan woman said she was cut while trying to stop Grindstone from swinging the knife, and her 22-year-old boyfriend, also of Mandan, also was cut, Ziegler said.
Burleigh County Assistant State's Attorney Ty Turner said Grindstone was released from prison in December on a variety of charges that all stemmed from alcohol use.
He asked that Reich impose bond conditions on Grindstone aimed at keeping him from drinking.
n Chas Haskell, 21, was charged with Class Cfelony aggravated assault Monday for allegedly hitting and attempting to strangle his 21-year-old wife.
Reich set bond for Haskell at $1,500 cash, ordered Haskell to have no contact with the victim and prohibited him from using alcohol.
Ziegler said Haskell was arrested after officers were called to a domestic dispute at a northwest Bismarck apartment at 12:39 a.m. Monday.
The woman at the apartment had red marks around her neck, Ziegler said.
