Bismarck police are investigating child neglect allegations against a Bismarck woman.
Lt. Randy Ziegler said officers were called to a southwest Bismarck apartment at 12:49 a.m. Thursday for a report of an intoxicated woman in the hallway. The officers did not find the woman, but they could hear children crying in an apartment, he said.
No one answered the door when the officers knocked, so they asked the landlord to open the apartment, Ziegler said. He said a 23-year-old woman inside was extremely intoxicated and could not remember the birth dates of the two children in the apartment.
Police took the children, determined to be an infant boy and a 1-year-old girl, to a relative's apartment in the same building for the night. The case will be forwarded to Burleigh County Social Services, Ziegler said.
