The North Dakota State Historic Preservation Review Board will meet at 10 a.m. Friday at the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck to consider five buildings and a trail for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
The National Register is the federal government's list of properties it considers worthy of recognition and preservation.
The meeting is open to the public.
The properties that will be considered are:
n The United Methodist Church of Devils Lake in Ramsey County, built in 1915.
n The Westminster Presbyterian Church of Devils Lake in Ramsey County, built in 1915.
n Oscar-Zero Missile Alert Facility in Griggs County.
n The Coghlan Castle in Rolette County, an example of a regional stone masonry technique.
n The John Stern Homestead of rural Hettinger County, constructed before 1907.
n The Custer Military Trail Historic Archaeological District in the south-central Badlands of western North Dakota on the Little Missouri National Grasslands.
If approved, nominations are submitted to the Keeper of the National Register in Washington, D.C., for review. Properties approved at the federal level are then listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
