The ink is barely dry on an agreement between Regent and Killdeer Mountain Manufacturing to expand into Regent and potential employees are needed.

A job fair will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Metal Magic building in downtown Regent; employment and training should begin as soon as Sept. 2.

The job fair will provide a time and place to apply and to learn more about the company, which has four manufacturing sites in southwestern North Dakota to build wiring "harnesses" for private and military aircraft.

Judy Kirschmann, president of the Regent Development Corp., said the town and KMM have been talking since January and finally struck a deal last week.

She said KMM will be temporarily located in a building the corporation is buying until a new building can be constructed.

"Our whole community is excited, and this will be good for not only Regent, but New England and Mott. We will be bringing people back," she said. Kirschmann said after an initial group of new employees are on board, the company plans to put in as many as 60 employees in Regent.

Kirschmann said the company offers flexible hours to accommodate employees who need to care for children or elderly parents, or who may have farm obligations. KMM, owned by Don Hedger of Killdeer, has manufacturing sites in Killdeer, Halliday, Dickinson and Hettinger.

Anyone who has questions about the Regent job fair can call Chris Sayler at 701-567-4987.
