GRAFTON (AP) - Three people are now charged in a fatal motorcycle crash in Walsh County, including one man who faces a manslaughter charge.

Daniel Sandoval, 17, of Adams, died from injuries he suffered in the April 18 crash on a gravel road northwest of Adams.

Craig Bata, 25, now faces a felony manslaughter charge in addition to an earlier felony charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, Walsh County State's Attorney Barbara Whelan said. Bata is due in court on May 28.

Authorities decided to file the manslaughter charge after reviewing evidence, witness statements and results of an investigation by law enforcement, Whelan said.

Troy Hartman, 19, of Fargo, is charged with driving with a suspended license and drunken driving, both misdemeanors. He is due in court May 19.

Derek Heffta, 21, of rural Adams, is charged with furnishing alcohol to minors, a misdemeanor. He is to appear in court Monday.

Authorities say Bata's bike struck Sandoval's mini-motorcycle, throwing both from their machines, and Bata's bike then slid into Hartman's motorcycle.
