MICHIGAN, N.D. (AP) - Nelson County authorities say a man whose body was found by hunters on Saturday died of hypothermia.
He's identified as 21-year-old Timothy Wimer (WHY'-mer) Jr. , of Lakota.
Nelson County Sheriff Kelly Janke says Wimer's body was found about a half mile from his partially submerged car, outside the town of Michigan.
Janke says it appears Wimer tried to walk for help but was wet, and succumbed to the cold. Temperatures at the time were below freezing.
Wimer was last seen leaving Michigan about 2 a.m., Saturday. His vehicle was found about 6 a.m., and his body was found a short time later.
