Leach grants benefit many local groups

Giving topped $10 million in 2005 for the Tom and Frances Leach Foundation.

The foundation is partially responsible for seniors meals, bringing music to the community and providing summer youth camps through numerous grants it gives each year.

It awarded its newest grant recipients at a luncheon Dec. 19 at the Bismarck-Mandan ElksBanquet Hall.

The grants are awarded to organizations that promote arts and humanities, education, human services, medical science and health, and social services. The foundation began in 1955.
