A one-stop shop for holiday decorations opened Monday.
The Christmas Store in the lower level of Seeds of Hope Thrift and Gift Store is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Proceeeds benefit the Abused Adult Resource Center.
"We have absolutely everything you need for Christmas," volunteer Myrt Armstrong said.
From Christmas trees, wreaths and decorations to gift bags, ribbons and wrapping paper, there's a bit of everything.
They also have dinnerware and other items. It's set up in themes, such as Santas and snowmen.
Items are donated to the store, and the store continues to accept donations. It would help to have holiday items separated from other donations, so they can quickly sort and price them, Armstrong said.
This is the sixth year for the Christmas Store. Donations help the women's and children's programs, Armstrong said. When women and their families move into an apartment, the AARC helps them set up the apartment with donated items, she said.
Beside donated items for the Christmas Store, Seeds of Hope could use volunteers to keep it running through the holiday season. Applications are available at the Christmas Store, or at AARC.
People can contact Alicia Wagner, the volunteer coordinator with the AARC, Armstrong said.
A grand opening event for the Christmas Store will be Nov. 1. There will be cider, cookies and prizes. For more information about the Christmas Store or Seeds of Hope, call 222-8895.
