Hettinger - Butterfield Hoop Camps, coached by John Butterfield, will be held June 8-11 at the Hettinger High School gym. Bowman - The third annual Relay for Life of Bowman County will be held June 12 and 13 at the James Field in Bowman. Events start with cancer survivors' registration and a picnic at 4:30 p.m., and the opening ceremony will start at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to participate and there will be special laps and entertainment all night long.

Dunn County - The Dunn County Weed Board will distribute cost-share chemicals from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Dunn County extension office. Anyone who hasn't reserved a supply should check first for availability.

Hazelton - A public information meeting about a new water source for Hazelton city and rural residents will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hazelton Public School. Representatives from South Central Regional Water District will be there.

Beach - The Golden Valley Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the county courthouse at Beach to review a request to rezone Blocks 9 and 10 in the original Golva town site from agricultural to commercial.

HETTINGER

Mott - Memorial Day will be observed at 10 a.m. today at the Mott-Regent High School gym, with an address by District 8 American Legion commander Patrick Mischel. There will be services at the river and cemetery afterward, followed by lunch at the Hettinger County fair building in Mott. Also, a bicycle safety course for children ages 4 through 12 will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Mott swimming pool parking lot.

Steele - The Kidder County veterans' picnic and barbecue will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Steele Veterans' Club. There'll be free food and drink, military displays and guest speakers.

Alexander - A Memorial Day service will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Alexander City Hall, with Corynna Turnquist, the 2009 "poppy girl," laying the memorial wreath. A potluck dinner will be held after the service. Flags will be retired at 5 p.m.

Wilton - A 5-kilometer run and walk and a 1-mile run for kids will be held starting with 8 a.m. registration June 13 in Wilton. T-shirts will be given to participants and the entry fee will go toward Wilton Park Board playground equipment. Hazen - The third annual Cops & Kids Fishing Derby will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 6 at Harmony Lake north of Hazen. The derby is open to children up to age 14.
