Two men face murder charges today for the June 5 slaying of Alden Fast Horse.
Sheldon McHugh, 19, and Leland Bad Brave, 21, are each scheduled to be charged for one count of murder. McHugh is scheduled to be charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and one count of burglary.
Bad Brave had previously been charged with burglary and conspiracy to commit robbery in relation to the incident.
Fast Horse, 30, of Cannon Ball, was found dead in a hotel room at the Ramkota Hotel at 12:03 p.m. on June 5; Burleigh County State's Attorney Richard Riha said Fast Horse suffered multiple stab wounds
Riha said an investigation determined McHugh allegedly committed the burglary at an earlier time, then returned again. Riha said the room was entered the morning of June 5 with the intent to rob Fast Horse again, and he was allegedly killed in the course of the robbery.
McHugh was arrested after a brief chase from Moorhead, Minn., to Fargo on Monday night. Riha said Moorhead police were alerted the man may have been in the area.
Besides Bad Brave and McHugh, two other people were charged in relation to the case, although not for murder.
James Wisbey, 22, also has been charged with Class B felony burglary for allegedly breaking into Fast Horse's motel room at the Ramkota. Bad Brave and Elena Vassar, 22, have been charged with Class A felony conspiracy to commit robbery.
