Cancer survivors can feel pampered at a fundraiser later this month.
The second annual Diva Night is Oct. 29. It raises money for the Bismarck Cancer Center and Sara's Dance.
"It is to support survivors," said Jill Goetz, spokeswoman for the Bismarck Cancer Center.
The event is at Lillians downtown. The red carpet opens at 4:30 p.m.
There will be apple cider served in champagne flutes and refreshments. A cosmetologist, foot reflexologist and a massage therapist will be on hand to provide the pampering.
People can come dressed up, if they like, but it's not necessary.
"We were dressed to the nines," said Pam Emmil about the event last year.
That evening will give people a chance to socialize and to meet other cancer survivors. People will be given ribbons that denote how many years since their cancer diagnosis. It's meant to help people who are newly diagnosed to see that there are people who have gone through something similar and are still here.
Admission to the event is $10 per person. It is open house style, where people can come and go. It starts at 4:30 p.m. and lasts until 8 p.m. Lillians is at 108 N. Fifth St., next to Peacock Alley, which will be providing the refreshments.
Last year, about 100 attended. For more information, contact Susan Schweiters, the owner of Lillians, at 258-5303, or Goetz at 222-6100.
