Not a traditional hunt

It was a different sort of deer camp for them. But then life itself has been different since they have been confined to wheelchairs. Last weekend, Lake Sakakawea State Park near Pick City hosted its eighth deer hunt for persons in wheelchairs.

Youngsters at the end of the trail

Half-way up the hill, I set the loaded wheelbarrow down, caught my breath, flexed my burning arms and soaked in the view. Kids No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 ran circles around me. This wasn't the scene eight years ago when I installed my trail of bluebird nest boxes in the lovely Apple Creek valley.
