NDDOT voted best place to work
The North Dakota Department of Transportation was selected as the top place to work and McFarlane Sheet Metal in Grand Forks was selected as the top place to intern for young professionals by the North Dakota Young Professionals Network.
The awards, initiated by the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network to recognize business locally, have grown to cover the state. Applicants must submit a detailed questionnaire about the company benefits, advancement opportunities, and why their business is an outstanding place for young professionals to work or intern. A statewide committee of four Young Professional judges sifted through the nominees, determining the winners, as well as five runners up in each category.
Best Place to Work runners up include Microsoft - Fargo, Capital Credit Union - Bismarck, National Information Solutions Cooperative - Mandan, Info Tech - Minot, Mid-American Credit Union Association - Bismarck.
Best Place to Intern runners up include: Alien Technology - Fargo, Agri-Cover - Jamestown, Scott Financial - Bismarck, Amber Waves - Richardton, Cloverdale Foods - Mandan.
Marketplace seeking nominations
Marketplace for Entrepreneurs is seeking nominations for several awards: 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year, 2009 Social Entrepreneur of the Year and 2009 Entrepreneurial Community of the Year.
Marketplace is designed to be a conference where aspiring entrepreneurs and communities can come for resources to pursue their entrepreneurial visions. Winners of the awards will be recognized at the 2009 Marketplace for Entrepreneurs on Jan. 14, 2009, at the Bismarck Civic Center.
