Two awarded
Jake Jacobson was awarded February Salesperson of the Month at Midwest Business Systems. Darold Schmuhl was awarded February Employee of the Month.
Kienzle named
Wells Fargo announced that Neuley Kienzle has been named assistant vice president and business banking relationship manager in Mandan. Kienzle joined Wells Fargo in 2004, and most recently served as a business relationship manager in Bismarck. He holds a bachelor's degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Mary in Bismarck.
Pettit joins
Knife River Corp. announced that Edward "Ned" Pettit has joined the company as environmental manager. In his new role, Pettit is responsible for guiding all environmental programs for Knife River. Specifically, he will work to make certain Knife River meets all environmental regulations and compliances and will develop corporate environmental stewardship programs.
Daley awarded
The Information Technology Council of North Dakota presented an award to Maren Daley, executive director, Job Service North Dakota, for Outstanding Achievement in Digital Government.
The award for Outstanding Achievement in Digital Government recognizes individuals or teams that have demonstrated foresight, innovation, and implementation of programs or services that provide information technology to serve and connect with the public on the state or local level.
Two hired
Brian Kovaloff was recently hired by Bartlett & West Inc., and he is one of the newest members of the GeoInfo division. He has more than nine years of experience dealing with city government GIS projects and was with the city of Bismarck Public Works Department prior to joining Bartlett & West.
Jerry Shae has joined Bartlett & West as an engineer manager in the rural water division. His emphasis is in planning, designing, construction phase engineering and management of water delivery systems. He has an array of experience in pumping systems and expertise in irrigation development.
Board announced
The Central Dakota Human Resource Association, an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management, announced its new officers for the year 2008. Presiding as president is Ann Bredemeier, PHR, as president-elect is Stuart Carlson, SPHR, and as past president is Patty Tangen, SPHR. Marlene Larson, SPHR, serves as the new secretary and Corrie Mayher is the returning treasurer.
Johnson attended
Dr. Aaron D. Johnson, owner of The Smile Center in Bismarck, recently attended a postgraduate program in Esthetic Restorations at the University of Minnesota Dental School. Courses included Smile Design, Porcelain Veneers, Porcelain Materials/Staining and Glazing.
Forum attended
North Dakota Tourism Director Sara Otte Coleman recently joined 35 state tourism directors at the National Council of State Tourism Directors Spring Forum in Washington, D.C. At the two-day event, items discussed included research initiatives and analysis on tourism methodologies, domestic and international traveler data, and national tourism initiatives.
Conference attended
Investment Centers of America, Inc. recognized the efforts of Julie Hinsz and more than 100 of her fellow representatives at the company's national conference in Clearwater, Fla. The annual event, held at the Sandpearl Resort, provided an opportunity for attendees to share strategies for developing solutions to help clients reach their financial goals.
Berger recognized
Karen Berger, a career agent for Nodak Mutual Insurance Co. in Bismarck, was recently recognized as a top qualifier in Nodak Mutual's 2007 Strive for Excellence Contest. She earned this recognition for her sales in property/casualty and life insurance. Berger was one of 23 agents across North Dakota honored for qualifying for Nodak Mutual's top incentive contest at the company's annual awards ceremony.
Doerr awarded
Lori Doerr, a Realtor with Bianco Realty, has been awarded the Graduate Realtors Institute designation, after completing 90 hours of classroom instruction, covering subjects such as contract law, professional starndards, sales and marketing, finance and risk reduction.
Nelson hired
Clearwater Communications hired Annika Nelson as a communication specialist. She will be serving Clearwater's clients through writing and association management support activities. Nelson's previous experience includes serving as the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation's volunteer coordinator, interacting with more than 400 volunteers during the course of the summer season. She also was responsible for its semi-annual newsletter.
Banker awarded
Sharon Clausnitzer, personal banker at U.S. Bank, received a Star of Excellence Award. This is an annual award given to personal and universal bankers who achieve sales goals in all four quarters of the year.
