Stewart hired
The N.D. Safety Council recently hired Kevin Stewart as the new emergency care coordinator. Stewart has 23 years of experience as a first responder and emergency medical technician. He is an instructor-instructor trainer in CPR/AED/first aid and bloodborne pathogens as well many professional level certificates.
Five hired
Jame Todd, PE, was hired as a senior project manager in Bartlett &West's Rural & Regional Water Division in Bismarck. He comes to Bartlett & West after 18 years with the Bureau of Reclamation, where he served in several positions, culminating with chief of the engineering and construction branch for the Dakotas Area Office.
Tim Wood was hired as a survey crew chief in the firm's field services division. Wood has five years of field experience conducting surveys for all types of projects.
Austin Van Zomeren has joined the Rural & Regional Water Division in Bismarck as a senior engineering technician. He has 14 years experience in design and AutoCAD and in the construction industry. He previously worked in the land development sector.
Jay Peterson has been hired in the firm's Field Services Division as a field representative working on rural water projects. Peterson has more than five years experience on field observation on construction of water projects and 13 years experience in the construction industry.
DuWyne Pfeifle has been hired in the firm's Field Services Division as a field representative working on rural water projects. He has more than 10 years experience on field observation on construction of water projects.
Larson hired
Kay Larson, RN, has joined Odyssey Research as a clinical research coordinator. Larson has experience as a public relations coordinator, medical secretary and clinical surgical registered nurse in Bismarck. As a clinical research coordinator, she will work closely with local physicians and patients to ensure compliance with conducting the clinical research studies.
Boechler awarded
Debby Boechler, a sales and service agent with AAA North Dakota in Bismarck, has been recognized as one of the top producers in the Midwest by The Auto Club Group. Boechler was named a Rising Star and received the President's Elite Award, the highest level of recognition for AAA sales and service agents in North Dakota and seven other states in the Midwest.
Davis awarded
Bill Davis, a financial consultant with the local office of A.G. Edwards, has received the Broker of the Month Award in recognition of the exceptional level of service he provides to his clients. Davis has been with the firm since 2003, and focuses on working with business owners, farmers and ranchers.
Volk hired
Jennifer Volk has been hired as an internal auditor for MDU Resources Group Inc. Volk graduated this month from the University of Mary with a bachelor's degree in accounting and business administration. She previously worked as an accounting clerk intern at the North Dakota Division of Information Technology.
Interns hired
RaeAnne Weinreis and Tyler Hofland have joined the Internal Auditing Department at MDU Resources Group Inc. as interns.
Weinreis, an auditor intern, graduated this month from the University of Mary with a degree in accounting. She previously worked as an audit and enterprise risk intern with Deloitte & Touche.
Hofland, an information technology auditor intern, is a senior at the University of Mary pursuing a bachelor's degree in management information systems and business administration. He previously worked at Knife River Corp. as an information technology intern.
Sevart joins
Brian Sevart has joined the Communications and Public Affairs Department at MDU Resources Group Inc.
As a visual communications specialist, Sevart's primary responsibility will be creating PowerPoint presentations that support speeches and presentations given by executives and other individuals within the corporation. Sevart has an associate's degree in commercial art.
Peno starts
Filip Peno has been hired as a summer intern in the Tax and Compliance Department at MDU Resources Group Inc. Peno has completed his third year at Jamestown College.
Fettig joins
Ken Fettig has been hired to work in Montana-Dakota Utilities' Management Information Systems Department. Fettig has 10 years of experience with information systems; most recently, he worked for the North Dakota Division of Information Technology.
Spilde hired
Tony Spilde has joined the Communications and Public Affairs Department at MDU Resources Group Inc.
As a public relations representative, Spilde will focus on employee communication efforts, including being the editor of The Resource magazine. He has a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of North Dakota, and worked as a reporter and assistant city editor at the Bismarck Tribune for seven years.
Two join
Sharon Jans and Chris Kalash joined Job Service North Dakota in May 2008; Jans as a research analyst working with current employment statistics, and Kalash as a customer service consultant in the Bismarck customer service office.
Jans brings five years experience from Labor Market Information offices in both Minnesota and Nevada, where she worked in their CES programs. Kalash comes to Job Service from the N.D. Department of Public Instruction, where he worked for seven years, most recently as an administrator of a federal educational technology grant program.
Odney expands
Odney Advertising recently promoted Trish Helgeson into a new position within the agency and also expanded its creative and administrative departments with two new hires.
Helgeson, a nine-year veteran with Odney Advertising, was promoted to director of account services. In this new role for the agency, Helgeson will oversee Odney's Bismarck marketing consultants, providing strategic direction and leadership. She also will continue to manage the North Dakota Tourism account.
Matt Frank was hired as a full-time graphic designer. He recently graduated from Bismarck State College's commercial art program. As a graphic designer at Odney, he'll be involved in all facets of design and pre-production work of advertising print elements.
JoAnn Krueger joined Odney Advertising as a bookkeeping assistant. Krueger brings to Odney more than 20 years of accounting and inventory control experience and was most recently employed in the accounting department at a Fargo car dealership. She will conduct media auditing, accounts payable and accounts receivable auditing, as well as doing data entry.
Four attend
Medcenter One medical transcriptionists Dottie Schneider, Jane Paul, Meredith Gross and Nadine Sheets recently attended the North Dakota Prairie Rose Chapter of the American Association of Medical Transcriptionists Symposium in Minot.
North Dakota Prairie Rose Chapter biannual symposiums are designed to offer participants continuing education in an effort to establish best practices in healthcare documentation, as well as opportunities to participate in the advancement of the medical transcription profession.
Training attended
George Yineman, commercial Realtor with the Aspen Group, and Commercial Investment Member candidate, recently attended and successfully completed the Financial Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate Class of the CCIM Institute held in Minneapolis. Yineman specializes in commercial property sales and acquisition, disposition, leasing and development. He represents local, regional and national clients.
Stewart hired
The North Dakota Department of Emergency Services says Dwight Stewart has accepted the position of the southeast regional emergency response coordinator. Stewart will be responsible for establishing and coordinating a regional response plan for chemical/biological/radiological/nuclear/explosive incidents in southeast North Dakota.
Practicum attended
Dr. Joann Leahy, a radiation oncologist at the Bismarck Cancer Center, recently attended the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy Practicum. IMRT allows the intensity of radiation to be changed during treatment, sparing more surrounding normal tissue than conventional radiation therapy.
Dykes visits
Ken Dykes, executive director of the Bismarck Cancer Center, recently visited the Central Arkansas Radiation Institute, a cooperative effort between Baptist Medical Center, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Veterans' Administration Hospital and St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock, Ark. Dykes visited six of CARTI's seven outreach locations to gather information and observe the successes of a fellow member of the Association of Community Radiation Treatment Centers.
