Peterson appointed
Muriel Peterson of Bismarck has been appointed to a two-year term as state coordinator of AARP's Tax-Aide program in North Dakota.
Peterson has been a Tax-Aide volunteer since retiring in 2002 and served as a district coordinator for the past three years. She hopes to develop more Tax-Aide locations across the state and recruit more volunteers to help people with their income tax returns.
Spilde published
Nancy Spilde, RN, CURN, director of the Mid Dakota Clinic Center for Women Continence Management program, recently had her article "A Journey to Continence: A Case Study of Overactive Bladder Syndrome" published in the June 2008 Urologic Nursing magazine. Urologic Nursing is the official journal of the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates, Inc., and UNC (Urology Nurses of Canada).
Nordstrom presents
Dr. Kathleen Nordstrom, a radiation oncologist at the Bismarck Cancer Center, recently presented to the North Dakota Society of Radiological Technologists on the topic of Image-Guided Radiotherapy and cone beam CT localization prior to delivery of radiation treatment. The use of cone beam CT, available at the Bismarck Cancer Center, is an additional means of verifying the accuracy of delivery of radiation therapy.
Several certified
The Mid-America Credit Union Association, the trade association for North and South Dakota's 87 affiliated credit unions, and the Credit Union National Association administers the STAR/MERIT programs.

Jondahl awarded
Kim Hoffman Jondahl, owner of Jondahl Communications in Bismarck and a member of North Dakota Professional Communicators, a statewide organization, has been named a national winner in the annual National Federation of Press Women Communications Contest. Jondahl received a first-place award in the public relations printed materials category for a four-color magazine.
McGannon joins
Megan McGannon has the joined the staff at Hair Professionals in Mandan. She had eight years experience in all hair services including cuts, colors, highlights, perms and extensions. She also does eyelash tinting, body waxing and ear piercing.
Keller hired
Kent Keller joined Jobbers Moving & Storage as its IT/IS manager. Keller brings considerable knowledge of small business networks and information security with certifications of CNE, ASE, CCNA, MCP, CompTIA A+ and Network+ technician. He will be responsible for the day-to-day computer operations and administration, Web site development and maintaining Jobbers' wide and local area networks.
Officers elected
Centurion Club has elected officers for the 2008-09 year. Steve Vaughan, technical services supervisor at Workforce Safety & Insurance, was elected president. Ken Olheiser, team lead of systems engineering RD&Q at National Information Solutions Cooperative, was elected vice president of education. Damien Seese, software developer at Nexus Innovations Inc., was elected vice president of membership. Stacey Kautzman, paralegal at WSI, was elected vice president of public relations. Jordan Pope, business analyst at Nexus Innovations, Inc., was elected secretary. Bonnie Haupt, senior software specialist in RD&Q at NISC, was elected treasurer. Michele Blumhagen, quality assurance director at WSI, was elected sergeant at arms. The club's past president is Ken Olheiser.
Three promoted
Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. has announced three promotions in the Bismarck Call Center. Sue Materi has been promoted to Call Center Operations Supervisor. She will oversee the day-to-day operations of the call center. Joyce Frey has been promoted to Call Center Coordinator, responsible for leading a call center team of employees. Lisa Doll has been promoted to Resource Coordinator. She will be responsible for the daily coordination of data reporting, quality assurance and training.
Herner awarded
Del Herner, the Customer Service Manager at Montana-Dakota Utilities Co, has recently been awarded the CIAC Certified Strategic Leader credential by the Call Center Industry Advisor Council. CIAC is the sanctioned standards and certifying board for the customer contact profession. It administers and governs globally-recognized CIAC Certification, the first and only standardized and accredited certification for call center executives, managers and professionals.
Henke awarded
Leon Henke was nominated and selected as the Bismarck Transition Center's Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2008. Henke has been employed at BTC since May 2007. He is currently employed at BTC as a shift supervisor. Henke is a New Salem High School graduate and spent three years in the U.S. Navy.
Burkhartsmeier hired
Lindsay Burkharts-meier has been hired by Starion Financial as a loan operations specialist. Located at the Mandan loan center, Burkharts-meier provides processing, customer transaction and product support to the loan operations department. She received bachelor's degrees in business administration and business education from Valley City State University.
Keller hired
Chris Keller recently joined Starion Financial as a business banking officer at the downtown Bismarck location. He provides business financing, leasing, online banking for business and other financial services to enterprises in the area. Keller has seven years of banking experience. He received a bachelor's degree and a graduate degree from the University of Mary, Bismarck.
BND news
Jody Reinke recently joined Bank of North Dakota as an administrative assistant in the student loans area. She comes to BND with customer service experience through Job Service North Dakota along with the 2003, 2005 and 2007 Legislative Assemblies.
BND retiree Donna Kienzle joined the student loan new loans area to temporarily assist with peak processing. She will be assisting customers over the telephone and inputting student loan applications.
Other changes are taking place at BND:Nicole Malard will be transferring to an account technician II/claims processor position in the student loans area at the Bank of North Dakota; Carrie Willits will be transferring to an account technician II/investment associate position in the investments area of the Bank of North Dakota.
Mitzel promoted
North Dakota Guaranty & Title Company announces the promotion of Tracy Mitzel to administrative assistant.
Mitzel will oversee day-to-day corporate technology operations and assist with sales and business development for N.D. Guaranty & Title Company in Bismarck, Mandan Guaranty & Title Company, Dickinson Guaranty & Title Company and Minot Guaranty & Escrow Company.
