FARGO (AP) - A Jan. 17 concert at the Fargodome by the Australian rock band AC/DC has prompted a run on hotel space.

Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau President Cole Carley says hotel beds for the coming weekend were snapped up early because of the concert, plus a pair of conventions and some smaller events.

Fargo hotel manager Tom Kasper says his rooms were booked within a few days of the concert announcement, well before tickets even went on sale.

AC/DC is touring in support of "Black Ice," the group's first studio album in eight years. Pollstar, the concert industry trade publication, ranks the band's tour fourth in terms of average box office gross per city.
