FARGO (AP) - Court documents say a man accused of robbing a Fargo credit union last month sent a text message to his girlfriend in which he confessed to the crime as police were interviewing her.

Authorities said they found Denver Lee Tergesen in a stolen car in Detroit Lakes, Minn., after tracking signals from his cell phone.

Tergesen, of Fargo, is charged with robbery and theft of property in the Dec. 18 robbery of the First Community Credit Union.

In the court documents, authorities say Tergesen confessed to taking nearly $10,000 at gunpoint with his brother's handgun and using his girlfriend's car to flee.

Tergesen's brother told police Tergesen had stopped by his apartment around noon the day of the robbery and dropped off a blue sweatshirt and black ski mask he had borrowed.

Tergesen is scheduled to appear in court in Becker County, Minn., on Jan. 20.
