The seventh annual North Dakota Nature and Rural Tourism Association conference and membership meeting will be held Jan. 13.
The gathering is part of the 20th anniversary of Marketplace for Entrepreneurs, which is being held at the Bismarck Civic Center.
"Share North Dakota" is the theme for this year's event, which annually brings rural tourism operators together, according to association president James Odermann of Belfield.
"Our theme 'Share North Dakota' succinctly describes our mission and addresses the goal we have to welcome people to see the beauty of our state."
The keynote presentation this year will be delivered by Catherine Wiley, assistant professor, department of architecture and landscape architecture, at North Dakota State University in Fargo. Wiley's talk is entitled "Networking Rural Areas With Hub Communities: Day Trip Collaboration."
Wiley has coordinated research and completed studies of hub communities and rural tourism assets using the communities of Fargo and Medora as hubs. She will present the results of those studies.
