The state has received two federal grants totaling $96,000 from the U.S. Department of Commerce to support economic development efforts in southwest and central North Dakota. Gov. John Hoeven announced the grants.The Roosevelt-Custer Regional Council for Development was awarded a $52,000 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy grant, and the Three Affiliated Tribes received a $44,000 CEDS grant.
The grants are designed to provide resources to develop and implement an economic development strategy to strengthen the regional economy and create jobs through public-private participation.
The grants will impact Adams, Billings, Dunn, Golden Valley, Hettinger, McKenzie, McLean, Mercer, Mountrail, Slope, Stark and Ward counties.
