Bismarck police are investigating a rash of vehicle vandalisms that occurred in the early morning hours of Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving.Sgt. Dwight Offerman of the Bismarck Police Department said a total of 18 incidents had been reported as of Friday morning.
Damages were estimated to be at least $3,600.
He said the reports trickled in between 2:53 a.m. and 9:40 a.m., with at least one of the vandalisms being witnessed.
Offerman said the vandalisms are likely connected to one another and were possibly done from a moving vehicle, because of the areas of town involved and the damage inflicted was to side windows on the drivers' side of vehicles that were parked along the street.
Offerman said three were reported on the 3100 block of Manchester Street, two along the 1300 block of South Third Street, as well as on Yorkshire Lane and West Wachter Avenue.
He said the incident that was witnessed occurred on the 100 block of East Rosser Avenue, where a man saw three males running from the area at about 2:45 a.m.
Offerman said the majority of the other vandalism occurred in the southwest area of the city and west of Second Street.
