Bergian is PSC's 'perfect fit'

It turns out that Cheryl Bergian is actually the Public Service Commission candidate who is "the perfect fit."

Yes, both candidates possess solid, (although certainly not identical), educational and experiential credentials as relates to the topics the PSC must handle. But the PSC's mandate is "protecting the public interest," and Bergian's opponent is sorely lacking in the most important strength a commissioner must possess - a proven record of principle-based advocacy for the people.

Bergian's lifelong dedication to making life better for "the little guy" is outstanding, and well-known. Her opponent has demonstrated no such commitment.

Bergian has much valuable experience as an attorney in administrative law, the legal forum of the PSC. So she comes well prepared to make good on her pledge to push the PSC to more aggressively protect the public's interest in regulating the monopolies that exist in our state, especially the utilities and railroad companies.

Bergian brings not only her proven devotion as an advocate for people in North Dakota, but also the specific legal skills and experience needed to navigate the critical interplay of jurisdictions that the PSC constantly faces in dealing with federal agencies and other state agencies.

That makes a vote for Bergian a vote for defending and improving the quality of life for all of us.

" She is still promising "better cellphone coverage"....even though it isn't a duty of the PSC.

Vote Kalk, he isn't a lawyer. "

" I have heard Cheryl Bergian speak at an event, and was not impressed in the slightest. Quite frankly, just listening to Ms. Bergian at that event was enough to cost me her vote.

Just in case anybody would like more information on Mr. Kalk http://briankalk.com/web/ or Ms. Bergian http://www.cherylbergian.com/ "

" Since when is fighting for our country in the US military not "fighting for the little guy"? You may greatly admire Ms. Bergian, but you cannot discredit Dr. Kalk's dedication to serving the people. And you are right--the candidates do not have identical education. Dr. Kalk has great education, training and experience in energy, technology and communication transmission. Ms. Bergian knows how to argue. There's a vast difference between the two. Vote for the person you think is most capable to serve the people, but don't try to hide the facts to show that the candidates are equal in their ability to serve on the PSC. That just insults the intelligence of the people of North Dakota. "

" That is rich calling Bergian's work "a proven record of principle-based advocacy for the people". If you think Bergian's record assimulates ND's values, you're sorely mistaken. She is probably more liberal than Obama. Gay rights trial lawyers are east coast values, not ND's. "
