In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the completion of the North Dakota Capitol, the Mandan Art Association has asked area artists to produce their impression of the Capitol for a show. The 2009 show is titled "Impressions of the Capitol" and will feature any perspective of the Capitol or the surrounding grounds. All artistic mediums will be accepted with the only restriction being size of the artwork.
Due to space restrictions, the association asks artists to keep the size of pieces to 20 inches by 24 inches or smaller. All pieces submitted must be for sale and there will be no display fee except for a 15 percent commission on all sales.
The show is tentatively scheduled for February 2009, with the opening date to yet be decided.
Rose Heiser, association president, requests artists call 751-0796 or e-mail her at mandanartassociation@;yahoo.com to get on the list to reserve a space for the show.
The Mandan Art Association gallery is located at 411 W. Main St. across from the Lewis and Clark Hotel in downtown Mandan. The gallery is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
