Wheat stocks up in North Dakota

FARGO (AP) - Stocks of all types of wheat in North Dakota on Sept. 1 totaled 239 million bushels.

The Agriculture Department says that was up 5 percent from a year ago.

The stocks include spring, winter and durum wheat.

On-farm stocks in North Dakota were estimated at 160 million bushels, up 14 percent from last year. Off-farm stocks, at 79.3 million bushels, were down 9 percent.

Nationally, all-wheat stocks were up 8 percent over the year, at 1.86 billion bushels.
