Apple Dash planned for Sunday

The second annual Apple Dash starts Sunday at 4 p.m. at Hughes Education Center on North Washington Street in Bismarck. The Apple Dash supports activities by the Bismarck Public Schools Foundation, which provides mini-grants for teachers, scholarships for students and fine arts events.

From Hughes, the walk/run route goes to the Tom O'Leary trail. Participants will receive T-shirts, refreshments and ribbons. The top finishers in the 5K walk and run categories and the school with the most participants will receive trophies.

Registration begins at 3 p.m. The 1/2-mile and mile walk and run starts at 4 p.m. A 5K event starts at 4:30 p.m.
