Klootwyk awarded
Bruce Klootwyk has received the President's Volunteer Service Award for his work directing the Medcenter One Great American Bike Race for cerebral palsy.
Klootwyk received the gold level of the award, recognizing more than 500 hours of service.
Pfenning joins
Dr. Stacey Pfenning, who has graduated from a doctor of nursing practice program, is working in the Emergency and Trauma Center at St. Alexius Medical Center.
She also is a professor in the nursing division at the University of Mary.
The DNP program offers additional education and training for nurse practitioners and nurse anesthetists.
Pfenning graduated from the Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions DNP program in July.
Anderson honored
North Dakota Guaranty & Title Co. has named Deb Anderson its employee of the month for July.
Anderson is a receptionist at the Bismarck office. She has been with N.D. Guaranty & Title since April.

After working 10 years for Student Loans of North Dakota Guarantor, Jenny Kringstad has accepted an account technician II position in the processing area of BND Student Loan Services.
Tiffany Guthmiller recently joined BND as an account technician II in loan operations within banking services at BND. She has a bachelor's degree in accounting and more than four years of banking and loan processing experience.

Nick Lindvall is a software specialist in the research, development and quality division. He has a degree in computer science from North Dakota State University.

Weixel with Edgepath
Andrew Weixel has joined Edgepath Technology, a division of Applied Engineering Inc., as an IT consultant to the Bismarck area.
Weixel spent the last year in Japan as a conversational English teacher.
He attended the University of Mary, where he received a bachelor's degree in computer information systems.

Matthew W. Serra has joined the staff at Jiran Architects and Planners PC. as an architect in training.
Serra is originally from Brainerd, Minn., and has bachelor's degrees in architecture and environmental science.
Spanjer promoted
Denise Spanjer has been promoted to project director for the Center for Technology and Business.
She formerly worked as a business development specialist for the RE&T Development Center of Mandan. In addition, she directed the statewide education program for North Dakota Farmers Union in Jamestown.
Spanjer is a graduate of North Dakota State University and a native of Edgeley.
Sanford hired
Cindy Sanford recently joined the Center for Technology and Business as its state outreach specialist.
After a management career with Marriott Corp., the North Dakota State University graduate returned to North Dakota in 1996. Sanford previously worked as coordinator for the Rural Economic Area Partnership, was involved in the School-To-Work program and coordinated the Dickinson State University extended campus in Bismarck and the Bismarck State College four-year energy program.
Gray named editor
Brian L. Gray has been named the editor of the Mandan News.
A Mandan native, Gray has been a reporter and copy editor at the Mandan News for two years. He also has worked part time for three years as a radio disc jockey and broadcaster for KFYR 550 AM radio.
Gray is a 2005 graduate of Minnesota State University-Moorhead with a bachelor's degree in English and mass communications, and a minor in theater.
