FARGO. (AP) — Public health agencies across North Dakota are contributing part of their money from a multistate tobacco settlement to a new campaign focusing on the dangers of secondhand smoke.

Vicki Voldal Rosenau is the tobacco prevention coordinator in Valley City. She says the group called Breathe ND will use the Internet and a media blitz to spread its message. She says it's an attempt to educate people and get them to "speak up" against secondhand smoke.

Organizers say the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society have joined the coalition and similar organizations are expected to sign on.
