A 16-year-old Bismarck boy has been cited with cruelty to animals after allegedly killing a kitten for being on his bed.

Bismarck Police Sgt. Dwight Offerman said the kitten belonged to the boy’s sister. The boy was upset because the kitten had been on his bed, Offerman said.

He said the boy took a picture of the dead kitten and put it on his mom’s cell phone.

The incident was reported at 6:27 a.m. Thursday and happened sometime after 3 a.m., Offerman said.

The boy was cited and released.
