The Governor's Prevention Advisory Council on Drugs and Alcohol has established a grant program to fund projects that discourage alcohol and drug abuse by minors.Eligible North Dakota organizations can submit proposals for projects to help decrease substance abuse among the youth of North Dakota.
The grant program has a total of $100,000 available for award, and it is anticipated that multiple grants will be awarded. Proposals will be accepted from public and private schools, public and private higher education institutions, nonprofit organizations, local government entities, American Indian tribal government, and faith-based organizations.
The council will favor programs that target elementary school-aged youth and their parents. Proposals can be either school- or community-based.
A pre-proposal technical conference will be held for any organizations with questions on the application process. The toll-free conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. June 16. The deadline for submitting proposals is June 30.
