Heaton joins
The Rev. Gary Heaton has joined Medcenter One as a chaplain in the pastoral care department, bringing more than 20 years experience as a parish pastor. In addition to his role as hospital chaplain, Heaton will continue as part-time pastor for Living Water Lutheran Church in Mandan.
Two promoted
Emily Schopp has taken a new position as administrative assistant at Starion Financial. Schopp provides administrative support to the bank's operations, retail and marketing departments.
Corey Olson has been promoted to insurance administrator by Starion Financial. He provides customer service and administrative support to the insurance department of the downtown Mandan location. He processes customer policies, records and maintains insurance documentation and gives assistance to insurance customers.

Laurie Henschel, Annie Heckathorn, Penny Welk and Stephanie Kautzman, all staff at the St. Alexius BirthPlace, recently attended the Center for Breastfeeding Lactation Counselor Course. They have successfully passed the Lactation Counselor Certificate Exam to practice as certified lactation counselors.

Dr. Edward "Ted" Fogarty, a board-certified radiologist at Medcenter One, recently presented within a symposium on medical imaging in anatomy teaching sponsored by the American Association of Anatomists at the 2008 Experimental Biology meeting in San Diego. He also presented at the University of North Dakota "Teaching the Teacher" conference in Fargo.
Nicole Ford, occupational therapist, and Tracey Lockrem, speech-language pathologist, both with Medcenter One, presented at the North Dakota Child Care Providers Inc. annual conference April 12 in Bismarck. Their topic, "Children with Autism and the Autism Spectrum," provided practical tips and tools to assist in the daycare setting.
Tecca hired
Sharon Tecca has joined Jobbers Moving and Storage in customer service to provide support to Jobbers' commercial storage and record storage business. Tecca brings a background in management in the retail industry and banking teller services to her position. She majored in business and physical education at Western Montana College in Dillon, Mont.
Chair elected
Mike Fladeland of Bismarck was elected chairman of the Mountain Plains Equity Group Inc. board recently at the annual meeting of the directors of Mountain Plains Equity Group Inc. Fladeland is a community development coordinator with Montana-Dakota Utilities and he has served on the MPEG board since January 2004. Fladeland will succeed outgoing chairman Bruce Furness.
Two travel
Tim and Sharon Ell from Zorells jewelry recently traveled to Antwerp, Belgium, to buy diamonds for their store. Zorells is this area's Antwerp diamond brokers; the company travels to Antwerp and selects diamonds.

Jessica Claymore recently joined Coldwell Banker Realty Group as a Realtor. Claymore holds a bachelor of science degree in psychology from the University of Mary.
Kavaney awarded
Jack Kavaney is the 2008 recipient of the Claus Lembke Political Involvement Award. This award was first created by the North Dakota Association of Realtors in 2002 to recognize those who significantly advance the legislative agenda of NDAR through political involvement in the public arena. The award is named after its first recipient, Claus Lembke, who at the time was the executive vice president for NDAR.
Pandolfo attends
Kirk Pandolfo, a Smith Barney financial adviser and portfolio manager, recently attended Smith Barney's Portfolio Management Institute Forum in Washington, D.C. Topics included implementing defensive portfolio strategies, healthcare policy, forensic accounting and other portfolio management tools.

Darcy Fettig and Jim Jeromcheck were named Bianco Realty's Associates of the Month. Both had the most closed real estate sales for the month of March.

Kara Boelke was awarded employee of the quarter for the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. Boelke is a certified medication assistant and works at the primary CMA on the west unit.
