Rahrich hired

Mid-America Credit Union Association hired Steve Rahrich to assist the IT department in tasks relating to Web design and software problems. Rahrich also has been serving the community as a youth hockey coach and Web designer.

One awarded

Marcie Conmy-Fisher was nominated and selected as the Bismarck Transition Center's Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2008. She has been employed at BTC since July 2002.

Marum awarded

Jane Marum, a compliance investigator with the North Dakota Department of Labor, recently completed the requirements to achieve the Competent Communicator and Competent Leader awards through Toastmasters International. Marum participated in Toastmasters through the Club Fed group in Bismarck.

Four awarded

Four long-term care employees are being recognized for their outstanding work with the North Dakota Long Term Care Association's Caregiver Award.

This year's award winners include Ann Berry from Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks; Janet Gadaire from Woodside Village in Grand Forks; Ronda Jacob from Valley View Heights in Bismarck; and Brenda Olheiser from Country House in Dickinson. They will be honored at the NDLTCA's awards banquet April 30 in Bismarck.

One promoted

Mark Baerlocher, system planning coordinator for Williston Basin Interstate Pipeline Co., has been promoted to system planning manager for the company. He started with the company in 1986 as a gas dispatching system analyst and has held positions of increasing responsibility in numerous functional areas of Williston Basin, including volume management, business development, market services and system planning.

Staff certified

Staff at the Human Performance Center at St. Alexius Medical Center were certified by DSI Work Solutions: Allan Brossart, PT; Greg Jund, OTR/L, CHT; Jeanne DeKrey, PT, DPT; Josh Gerrity, OTR/L; Tana Herr, PT, MPT; Joel Jahnke, PT, DPT; Connie Kleinjan, PT; and Myron Cullen, MS, LAT/C, CSCS.

Officers elected

The National Association of Purchasing Management Northern Plains affiliate held its annual election of officers, at its annual meeting on April 10. NAPM Northern Plains is an affiliate of the Institute for Supply Management.

The roster of officers elected to a one-year term is as follows: President, Mike Seefeld (Basin Electric Power Cooperative); vice president, Paul Quist (Basin Electric Power Cooperative); secretary, Laura Skager (Basin Electric Power Cooperative); treasurer, Deb Grueneich (Basin Electric Power Cooperative); board of directors:Marilyn Langehaug (North Dakota Department of Transportation); Annie Masset (Basin Electric Power Cooperative); Jon Klein (Basin Electric Power Cooperative).

The following people volunteered to be committee chairs:Membership chair, Celeste Keller (Basin Electric Power Cooperative); marketing chair, David Raymo (United Tribes Technical College); education chair, Mary Lou Bergman (Hagemeyer NA), Micah Rothmann (University of Mary), Dwight Barth (Basin Electric Power Cooperative).

Ekren joined

Jenn Ekren has joined the Bismarck office as an architectural technician. She will provide support to architects by collecting, organizing and investigating technical information for use during project development and drafting. She will assist in the drafting of various projects locally and nationwide. She graduated from University of North Dakota with a degree in industrial technology.

Rising speaks

Cheryl Rising, a nurse practitioner at Medcenter One, recently spoke at the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses 40th annual Education Meeting in Nashville, Tenn. More than 1,000 nurses from across the country attended the conference.

Wolf moves

Dr. Terry Wolf, a family medicine doctor, recently started work at Medcenter One's Q&R Clinic Mandan East. Wolf has worked for the last seven years at Medcenter One's Dickinson Clinic.
