It is such great news to hear that the North Dakota Republican Party has endorsed Gov. John Hoeven and Lt. Gov. Jack Dalrymple for another term. With this news, we can be certain that North Dakota will continue its progress for at least another four years.

Although March Madness is over, the college basketball tournament always brings talk of a "Cinderella story"-the small colleges that rise from the bottom of the rankings to win it all. North Dakota could very well be the Cinderella story for this nation.

Our often underrated North Dakota has risen from its doom-and-gloom days of the 1980s and has become a national leader in exports, competitiveness, manufacturing and energy. We are also above the national average in job creation and rising wages and income - and we continue to rise ever faster.

We have a budget surplus when so many other states are experiencing budget deficits. North Dakota truly is rising from the bottom of the rankings and is poised to take it all. We can credit much of this to the sound and effective policy of Hoeven and the Republican-controlled Legislature.

The Democrats have tried to convince us that the progress we are experiencing is just "luck."

This, however, is just a ploy to distract North Dakotans from the fact that Republican leadership has brought North Dakota out of the funk it experienced under Democratic leadership in the 1980s and into a prosperous and exciting time for us to call North Dakota home.

If it is just luck, it appears we've been lucky for more than a decade.

If this is the case, I personally will stick with the winning bet that has been producing this progress for the last several years: I'll be placing my bet on Hoeven and his fellow Republicans this fall.

" Caine You have got a pretty cheesy arguement if you heave to go to the Monica card right off the start. Usually Republicans wait till they cannot defend their actions and then play the Monica card at the end. Monica sems pretty tame compared to lying to congress and the american people to start a bogus war that has cost us 4000 + American lives. Bush is a failure. "

" Oh yes, kind of like the Democrats were responsible for the tech boom when Clinton was in office. Good thing Gore invented the internet, because without it, the Clinton-Gore economic boom would have been non-existant. And without this boom, what would be left for his presidentail legacy??,,,oh yeah...Monica Lewisnky. "

" I'm more concerned about the Democratic party pulling together for the Presidential election coming up. If they don't...Cheryl might be right that the Republicans will poised to take it all. Hillary and Obama are both NOT very popular right now. I think they both have gone to far on their bashing each other, and I am not interested in either one of them anymore. How can we take either of them seriously? "

" You can believe what you want to believe Cheryl, although there are some of us who know the truth. Hoeven has done hardly anything for the state for fear of upsetting somebody and as you said it is merely by a stroke of luck that the state is in the shape it's in. The Republicans can brainwash some but I for one will not have the wool pulled over my eyes. "

It's just luck?? wrote on Apr 13, 2008 8:09 AM:

" You mean it is just luck that oil prices went up, and that WSI has denied, and later in a claim pushed the injured workers away? I guess both these issues would make ND have a large surplus of cash now wouldn't it? "

" Well I am sure glad that ND is rising from the bottom ranks, just to bad the injured workers are left behind at the bottom for North Dakotas progress!

Go Gov. John Hoeven and Lt. Gov. Jack Dalrymple, and I mean really GOOOOOOO.......leave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for standing up for the people, that mattered to you!! (Hope you did NOT think this was an endorsment!!)
