GRAND FORKS (AP) - A man with a history of hunting violations is accused of more offenses.Ian Noack, 24, of Grand Forks was charged with illegal possession or taking of a deer on Jan.6, the last day of the archery season, said Gary Rankin, a game warden with the state Game and Fish Department. He said Noack allegedly shot two deer with a bow and used someone else's tag on one of the animals.
Noack also was cited on the same day for hunting pheasants near an occupied dwelling, Rankin said.
In August 2006, Noack was sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 26 days suspended, for illegally possessing a whitetail buck taken during North Dakota's 2005 firearms deer season.
As part of that sentence, the judge also ordered Noack to pay $225 in court costs, $450 restitution and suspended his hunting privileges for a year.
Noack unsuccessfully appealed the sentence to North Dakota's Supreme Court, Rankin said.
Also in 2006 - and after he was sentenced - Noack was charged with hunting or assisting with hunting while his privileges were suspended. He also was charged with posting private land in Traill County that he didn't own or rent.
"He didn't have authority to post the land and he was found there in field with hunters," Rankin said.
A trial in that case is slated for May 1, Rankin said.
