Wal-Mart plans 2nd Fargo Supercenter

FARGO (AP) - Wal-Mart is planning to buy land for a second Supercenter in this city.

Spokesman Ryan Horn said the retail giant has a purchase agreement with Las Vegas-based developer Larry Scheffler. The developer said it involves about 25 acres near Interstate 29.

"We're very excited. They're the No. 1 retailer in the world, of course. It's our premier location," Scheffler said.

Horn declined to discuss details. He said Wal-Mart hopes to make an announcement soon.

Wal-Mart terminated its purchase agreement with landowners Fred and Earlyne Hector for a site northeast of the interstate after objections from neighbors.
