Health insurance study gets grant

The Resource Center, a division of the North Dakota Community Foundation, has been awarded a grant of $8,000 from Dakota Medical Foundation to support a statewide research project on health insurance for nonprofit organizations.

The project will include the first survey of the entire nonprofit sector within the state. The secretary of state's office has a current database of more than 5,000 nonprofit corporations. This database will be used for the survey.

Results from the survey will provide the necessary data to determine if a health insurance program is necessary and feasible for the nonprofit sector in North Dakota. Additional research will be undertaken to obtain information on the many nonprofit healthcare programs available in other states.
