Newspapers in Education (NIE) is a partner program of Literacy Leadership Inc., a non-profit organization that promotes literacy in the communities it serves. This partnership is a unique way for schools, businesses and the local newspaper to work together to benefit us all - now and in the future.

Through the use of daily news, editorials, features and even advertising, students at all grade levels can learn educational concepts like geography, meteorology, history, current events and how they shape the world, math and cost comparison skills, all while improving reading and comprehension skills.

Literacy Leadership currently provides more than 8,000 newspapers to area students each week.
