Happy Halloween

Ahhh, yes; the little trick-r-treaters have tailed off, all scurrying away to their homes. I anticipate a good number are now in sugar-comas bouncing off their bedroom walls, their eyes nary a blink.
I love Halloween, did as a kid, now love it as an adult. I like that this is one of the few holidays where kids really get to be kids. Adults seem to passively stand by, letting the young'uns race house to house. As the door opens the crowd shouts "Trick or Treat!". There is not following 'Hushhhh", or "Johnny, be quiet..." like Christmas or Easter. The kids dress as they want, not tucked into a dress white shirt and a polyester tie. And lets not forget they get candy at house to house, no books, socks, or gifts a kid needs rather than wants like on birthdays and Christmas. Sure, you get an occasional apple or toothbrush but you can always resort to 'tricks' as recorse.
This year we got about double the turn-out as last year. We're in a culdesac so our turn-over is lessoned. We did however get 'bout 3 dozen ghouls and gobblins this fine eve. As choco-pushers we pumped about a 5 gallon bucket of treats into the kiddie-economy this year letting each grab a handful as they worked their way to our home.
Ahh, good night.
