Thoughts From The Fat, Slow Kid

Weekly I waste some time on YouTube.  I, myself, have added a video or two consisting of short snippets of tv shows that are worth a quick view.  I've place a number of commercial snippets that make references to AC/DC because it amuses me.

What I find interesting is that many videos will be removed due to copyright infringements.  I'm aware of the copyright law.  If you spent millions of dollars creating a commercial, sitcom, or the like you want to recoup your money.  Piracy therefore is money out of your pocket.  However, 3 minute snippets are no replacement for the whole show.  No meathead is going to watch Lost in 3minute intervals.  So I ask, why the heck are so many networks so tight-assed when it comes to pulling these videos?

If anything, a 3 minute prelude will likely peak an interest and generate a new viewer.  Instead they seem to rather take their toys and go home.

What is even more curious is that there are a number of commercials.......commercials mind you that remove their content.  Huh?  I thought the intent was to get your name out there.  Why on Earth would you remove free advertising?  I suspect I'll never understand.
